Ability to change a Landing Page's Template

Currently if you want to change a Landing Page's template you have to clone the page, choose the new template, and approve it. This deletes all statistics for the page. It would be great if you could change the template without loosing all your data. ... View more

Rather than create additional smart campaigns/flows to accomodate this, it would be really useful if system tokens (or even a local token) can be used as the default value for a form field - often times these are hidden fields.  For example, when someone opts-in to receive future email communications from us, we need to date-stamp an "optin date" field with the time/date that this took place.  To be able to use the {{system.dateTime}} token as the default value would be very convenient. ... In large orgs and/or in orgs with some strong compliance commitment, who is entitled to make an email operational has to be duely trained. In order to get a better control on this, we should be able to restrict this through a role permission. -Greg ... View more

Automatically trim any trailing spaces after an email address during list import

When importing lists, if an email address contains spaces after the address, it will be included in the import, causing the email to be invalid.  Would like to see Marketo automatically remove these spaces during the list import.  I realize there are ways to manually do this but this would just make it so much easier and lessen the risk for invalid email addresses.  When I used to develop web applications in my prior career, there was a very useful function that we used when importing contact information (including form submits) into SQL Server.  We simply applied a TRIM function to the email address that striped out any spaces before or after the address.  For example "TRIM(email address)".  I'm sure every application platform has this feature (ASP, PHP, etc.). ... Currently only standard Linkedin fields can be synced from my investigation. The ability to sync custom linkedin fields using Lead Gen Forms would greatly help with our GDPR effort in terms of adding a custom OptIn field. It would be nice if Marketo would report which emails are marked as spam.  I found this report from a different company that shows the # of "marked as spam" in a campaign. I recently found this post, and the awesome tool on it, which helps you find a landing page in Marketo straight from the live page - https://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000PbYTAA0 The only thing keeping it from being a perfect solution is that this script only works on landing pages that also contain a form.  While this does cover the vast majority of our landing pages, I think it would be great if the functionality here could be expanded to pages w/out forms, although I don't know the technical limitations as I don't know the javascript required to do this.   I'm sure there are other similar posts about this out there, so feel free to merge this idea.  At the very least I figured I'd be re-sharing the above tool so others could stumble across something cool like I did today 😃 ... Today, only standard Marketo fields have an index placed on them that improves and optimizes smart list performance. It would be beneficial if indexes could be placed on custom fields so that smart lists do not frequently time out when using filters on our business's core fields. Indexes would be optimal for fields that are unique or have external Ids in another platform, are boolean, date, or have a static set of values (such as in a drop down). ... View more

It would be very useful for customers if one could set a form's target attribute (where the followup page opens) from the form editor. For example, we could let people choose between opening it in a new window or tab, in the same frame, or in the full window / parent page. Many customers rely on using a Forms 2.0 form on a Marketo page inside an iframe so they can take advantage of prefill and progressive profiling (doesn't work if you embed the form code). The problem is that with Forms 2.0, there's no way to do this without the followup page opening inside the iframe. It would be great to have the ability, either via list import, or possibly on form submissions, to set data being mapped to certain fields to append to existing data in that particular field, rather than overwrite it. One example would be for the Description SFDC field, which is a long text field.  This field is probably commonly used by sales reps to write in call notes, or used by the marketing team to write in campaign notes of some sort.  It would be great to have the option to append notes from other campaigns to this field on a list load, rather than either have to map additional notes to a new field or be forced to overwrite whatever is already in this field. ... Hi, Today when we upload images to Marketo we cant add a default alt and title for the image. We can only add alt if the image is being added to a "Rich Text Editor object", but if the template has an image object, all we can do is to choose the image, we can't update the alt so no default alt nor updated one. Hello everyone We implemented the forms 2,0 embedded code everywhere on our new website. It is a great way to seemlesly add Marketo to any CMS. We made our own WordPress shortcode for this. We also use Google Analytics, like probably everybody else here. Besides the standard page tracking, we make heavy use of event tracking to measuser other actions like opening a modal windows, watching a video, hearing an audio file, etc. Some other plugings we use like Sharethis have added Google event tracking to their script so you can see how many times someone used it to post on twitter, facebook, etc. So I thought it will be great if the Marketo embedded code includes call to the google event tracking so we can report on: - How many times sthe form was filled with errors. - Which fields generate the most errors - How many times a form was tarted vs the submit button was clicked. I think many of us get false hope when we see a "we like it" status for Ideas in the community. Especially when some of the most voted on ideas - like subscribing to smart lists - have a "we like it" status, yet are several years old. I've been banging my head for the past several hours and finally broke down and called Marketo support.  We need to track click activity on a Marketo landing page.  The use case is an RSVP page with an "Accept" button and a "Decline" button.  Based on what link the user clicks, they will either receive a confirmation email or be sent to a "sorry you can't attend" landing page.  Apparently this is not possible.  At this time, there is no way to use the trigger "Clicks link on web page" when Marketo landing pages are being used. ... Emojis are not a documented supported feature in Marketo, and while they aren't for every audience there are a lot of promising test results that show they can be effective at helping emails stand out. Many benefits to using emojis are outlined in this Marketo blog post: http://blog.marketo.com/2015/05/marketers-rejoice-emoji-marketing-is-here.html It would be great to have this as a supported feature.
