Your way definitely makes sense. I would think that would be the best way to track cost metrics as well. It will be interesting to see what other people say.
Hi Cecile,Can you show us how your campaigns are set up? It sounds like you should be able to do a trigger and then a filter. For example, fills out form and then add a filter for clicked on email. You will just want to make sure that you don't include two triggers because triggers are treated as "o...
Hi Danielle,I'm with a large enterprise organization with multiple products, so I thought I would share what we do. When we use UTM parameters, we capture both lead source (this field doesn't overwrite so if a lead already has a lead source, it won't change) and lead source most recent (this field i...
Something else you can do is use form conversions to look at the last touch (if you don't want to capture every campaign that touches the leads). If you go this route, you can use a tracking parameter so that a form fill will populate your "last touch" field.

On my team, the relevant stakeholders have a shared email address that they can use to look at the sample emails. Since we're a large organization, this works well for us.
It sounds like other people have had the same question. I found this discussion that should be able to help you with understanding the process:How Does Marketo Decide Whether a Lead Should Receive Email or Not? Hopefully this helps!
