We have a value called "Created in SFDC" for Lead Source if the person creating the record does not select the Lead Source.
Hi James,This is one of the reasons we keep all leads in Salesforce. They are owned by a "Marketo User" (as if they are just in Marketo) but if a sales person needs to use that lead, they are welcome to do so without having to create a duplicate.
I should add that we are capturing URL parameters to populate lead source/detail if they are new to the system already, so that is an option for other fields as well.
Thanks all. My fear with the use of fields is that if people take part in multiple assets/publications that it wont get tracked. Or maybe that's overkill and never really happens. My workaround is typically to export to Excel and dedupe based on Company Name. I know this is not what you are looking for, but not sure it's possible since Marketo operates more as a lead database rather than a company database. I hope someone has a better answer 🙂Lauren
Unfortunately, to my knowledge, the only way to find out this information is to build a smart list with the "clicked link in email" filter. We have looked into this in the past as well. Would love a direct link to the leads behind the data!
Yes, this must be a default status set up somewhere, and I would assume in SFDC.
