+1 to that. We are in the process of doing it, and it involves, as Sanford said, "dangerous and significant Apex development". Don't even know yet if it'll work really. I didn't get a say in whether to do it or not, but if I had I would have advised against it I think.
Jon - I have very often used option #3 to do the controls exactly as you described. It's a bit clumsy but works well.
Hi JonThe issue I have with "Hide from Marketo" is not only that it's a negative, but I think it potentially could fool people into thinking you can "hide" something from Marketo that is already synced, which isn't actually true. Ticking that box will stop future syncs, but won't remove that person ...
Hi LaurenYou are hitting your Salesforce API limits so new connections by Marketo are being rejected once this happens. These limits are reset every 24 hours by Salesforce, so while it does resolve itself, it's possible to get a new error each day when you reach the limits again. You need to talk to ...

USA can mistakenly be U.S.A or USA. or usa (caps matter ...
If you have some other custom fields managing your unsubscribe on some people, run a few Change Data Value processes first to ensure that ALL persons in your database have an unsub value you trust in Marketo's standard unsubscribe field. Doing your due diligence here will allow you to use the durabl...
Hey Olya - in Australia there's a requirement to both opt people in and out (if requested) from SMS. Sanford's $$ point is a good one, but not something you need to worry about within Australia as we don't get charged for receiving texts at all here. But yes, check with your own legal on this.
Agree with what everyone else has to say about what will happen here - you are headed for heaps of duplicates.Firstly, I'd say that this scenario is too complex for a post on the community. You need a Marketo consultant (partner/professional services) to advise you ASAP and build a strategy that fit...
Hi Jennifer - this original post is from 2014. I'd recommend you start a new thread with your question and you'll get responses.
