Issue You are experiencing slow processing of campaigns, smart lists, and reports.     Solution There are three key components that can slow down an instance: Number of trigger campaigns: Trigger campaigns are always on, always listening.  If there are 50 campaigns triggering at the same time, all the 50 triggers will be in queue, slowing down your processing and routing inside Marketo. Solution: Reduce the number of Triggers. Convert some of the triggers to batches: Batches also run all the flow steps for every lead at once, instead of serially, which reduces total processing time.   Complexity of smart lists: The more complex a smart list, the harder it is for the system to figure it out, which increases backend processing and even creates campaign failures from timeouts. Solution: Reduce the number of nested smart lists called in a smart list. Whenever you ask Marketo to call another Smart List, it has to wait until all of the other smart lists finish, before putting together the final counts. Instead of Marketo looking for the list and running it, just put the filters in the trigger itself.   Volume of Leads: With regular cleaning and good systems design, it is fairly easy to keep your system running fast. Reduce the number of leads that can flow through with filters. Clean up the inactive leads at regular intervals.

Issue In Salesforce on the Account level for Marketo Sales Insight, it does not show all the activities of the associated contacts. Solution Marketo Sales Insight only shows certain activities depending on how recently they occurred on the account level. Interesting moments: last 60 days Web Visit: last 3 days Score Change: last 30 days Email: Everything If you wanted to check activities past these dates you would need to go to the contact level and check the history there. The reason behind this is because at scale if there were 100s of contacts under one account and all contacts are active and creating activities it would be difficult to sift through the activities and may cause performance issues due to the sheer amount of data being displayed which is why this limitation is in place.

Issue Activity History in Saleforce shows this message: [Email details are being uploaded from Marketo...please check back later] when emails are sent out from the Marketo Outlook Plugin.     Solution This message is created because of insufficient privileges for the Marketo sync user inside of SFDC. There is a permission for “Edit HTML Templates” that needs to be enabled for the sync user in order to prevent this problem from occurring. Background: When you send an email using the Marketo Outlook plugin, it is sent through the user's Exchange server rather than Marketo's email servers. Many users have an email signature that is automatically added to the email. This adds additional HTML to the email, which does not match the template already in Salesforce Sales Insight. Normally, Marketo would create a new template which Salesforce could then display in a link in the Activity History. However, in this case, the Marketo sync user does not have the necessary permissions, so this error results. To fix this, enable the "Edit HTML Templates" permissions to your Marketo Sync User.   Who This Solution Applies To Customer who are using Sales Insight for Salesforce and Outlook

Issue Interesting Moments for a specific Marketo record are not showing up in SFDC Sales Insight for the record with the same email.     Solution The most common cause for this is that the record in SFDC is not the same record as the one in Marketo.  This can happen if there are duplicate records in Salesforce with the same email address. To check if the record in Salesforce matches the record in Marketo, compare the SFDC ID.  On the Marketo side, this can be found in a field on the Lead Database record. The SFDC ID for a record in Salesforce can be obtained from the URL. It is generally the the 15 alphanumerical characters near the end of the URL (e.g. 012300000012BYN) - here is an article in Salesforce for more information: https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000004383&type=1

The Marketo users at your organization have created several special campaigns for your leads and contacts.  Typical examples include sending someone a whitepaper about a new product or mailing a series of nurturing emails for people not ready for sales. To add a lead or contact to one of these campaigns, go to that person's detail page and find the Actions menu in the Marketo Sales Insight section.  Pick Add to Marketo Campaign and click Go:     You can also select leads in your list and search views if you've added the Add to Marketo Campaign button to those views.    You can add 200 leads at once this way:     After picking the leads, you'll see a list of potential campaigns; below the selected campaign is a brief description provided by your marketing team.    Pick the campaign for this person in the Campaign Name pulldown, then click Finish:

Issue Issue Description Windows Outlook users who use the Marketo Sales Connect plugin might have noticed that emails don't send as fast as they usually do. We are working on a long-term fix for this subset of customers, but in the meantime you can use the following workarounds:    Solution Issue Resolution If you switch Outlook to, "Online Mode" (as opposed to Cached Exchange Mode) this will decrease the total sending time. You can follow this document in order to turn off Cached Exchange Mode. When Marketing Suspended is checked in a lead's record, it will prevent any non-operational email from being sent by Marketo, including the emails sent from Marketo Sales Insight in Salesforce, which are routed through the Marketo infrastructure.   Sales Insight for Outlook or Gmail emails however, are not sent via Marketo. They are sent by the mailserver to which the client is connected; ie Google mail servers or Microsoft Exchange Servers, and are not under Marketo's control.
