Ryan, can you please tell me where you are seeing this issue? We actually updated "Send Sample Email" last year to ensure that links are converted to tracking links and the resulting URL should have mkt_tok appended as long as you didn't uncheck that option in the text editor.
I agree with you, this is definitely not desirable behavior. Frank Passantino is working in this area now and we will see if we can resolve this.
That feature will still be there (in the first thread you linked to) but we cannot do all variations of the email. We have to cap it at 100. If you have 5 dynamic elements that have 5 segments each, that is suddenly 3,000+ different possible versions of the email...
There is "Last Updated" which is probably good enough to get rid of really old pages. The entire list is also exportable for your own analysis and searching purposes. Of course, that is if you are looking for a specific page to delete.

It's easier to go to Design Studio > Landing Page and then type in the exact template name into the search box at the bottom of the grid. If you are showing the "Template" column, you'll be able to multi-select and approve.
The activity log would only show "Sent Email, Delivered Email, Clicked Link" as you described, but we have business logic on top of our Email Performance Report that would also increment the open count.
