It does indeed seem weird. Basically Marketo is showing everything it can SEE in that view, not necessarily everything it can sync to. Subtle difference, but an important one.

Yes, I have done this, usually for clients who specifically wish to have their telemarketing or inside sales team very clued in to the marketability of the leads. It helps with phone engagement, and assists with Marketing/Sales alignment.You cannot however directly sync these fields with Salesforce....
