A common need, and unfortunately there's no way to do this yet. I'm sure there are existing Ideas, though, so you didn't need to open one. Grégoire Michel will be fastest at pointing you to where to upvote.

I'd think if you use a class name that would have to be escaped in CSS, no one will accidentally use it. Like class=":mktTrack:".But you don't have to use the class name as the variable, you can use the attribute name:Blah
