In the industry I'm in, it also has very poor social media adoption. Twitter and Linkedin seems to be what's working for us. Although I have to admit that I haven't put that much time and effort with Facebook, but I might try the content download route that you mentioned above.
What if in admin you set a rule where there's a limit of one email that a lead can receive per day? Would there be a chance that the lead can get the email twice?

I created a smart list of all inactive records in Marketo and I'm wondering if there's a way to have a system wide way of excluding them from all or any email campaigns without having to add them as a filter for each email campaign?
Just ask your boss to give you admin access. That's what I did because I'm the one who has to set everything up. No cost.
