That's not how "Free-form" landing page templates work. Those templates are just the skeleton of the page. Any content the user drags on in the landing page editor is absolute positioned on the resulting page, meaning it doesn't matter what you've coded into the template since it won't be applied.

I agree with all points. I'm going to chat with one of our engineers about introducing a special class name or syntax in order to let you specify that certain elements should not be hidden in the mobile view.
We have full Google font support in the update version of the landing page text editor. Coming out soon.
We now offer support for "mobile friendly" landing pages and will be rolling out a brand new landing page editor and template syntax with the May 2015 release to support fully responsive landing pages.

Some of the 3rd party workarounds to build responsive landing pages are cool, but we're releasing official support for fully responsive landing pages in the May release. I'll be starting a beta in a few weeks.
