Try going to Web Services in Admin section and use User ID and Encryption Key. In most cases, this should work.
Are you able to see the field in your smart list? Someone might have renamed the field in Field Management section. The other possibility is that the missing field might have been merged with any other fields. MKTO allows merging un-used fields to keep the instance clean.

I had a similar challenge where I wanted to make sure that my leads stay in a single nurture program at a time. Unfortunately, I had to change the Nurture>Not in Program after a lead exhausted any of the nurtures. Let's see if someone can share a better approach in achieving this.
