Under admin > field management you can check for "Field used by" on a field-by-field basis, but again to Sanford Whiteman's point, more clarity is needed with the question.
I would think that on-create you could do something with the lead ID on the record perhaps. Though, I am not sure how random that is within Marketo or if it is more of a running incremented number.It would certainly require some POC and testing.
