Issue Statuses are not showing for a channel when viewed in the Admin > Tags section of Marketo.     Solution To view the statuses for a channel, follow these steps: Go to Admin > Tags. Expand the Channel tag type. Double-click on a channel to open the Edit Channel window. Scroll down to view the statuses. If you are unable to see statuses in the Edit Channel window, it may be due to the slight delay that can occur when Marketo is loading the values for a channel. If you leave the channel window open, the values should populate. The more statuses there are for a particular channel, the longer the delay can be before they populate.

Issue Sometimes you may get this error when trying to sync a Marketo Program to an SFDC Campaign -  "Not allowed: Salesforce campaign contains incompatible statuses", even though the statuses match in the Marketo program and SFDC campaign.   Solution Check for the statuses in the Marketo program channel and SFDC campaign - you will see the same statuses. This error occurs if there is any case-sensitive error in the statuses. For example, if your Marketo program has the following statuses: Attended, Registered, Unable to Attend and the SFDC campaign has Attended, Registered, Unable to attend. Then you will encounter the above error. You have to change the status in Marketo as "Unable to attend" or change the status in SFDC Campaign as "Unable to Attend"  in order to fix this.

Issue Smart campaign email tab's count for soft bounced and delivered activities does not match the number of soft bounced and delivered activities in smart campaign results tab Example: Email tab shows 5 soft bounces, whereas, results show 6 soft bounce activities Email tab shows 10 delivered, whereas, results show 13 delivered activities Solution The email tab on a smart campaign is an Email Performance Report so it is calculated based on documented rules at Email Performance Report | Adobe Marketo   Root Cause There was one lead that opened the email, so the lead was not counted as soft bounced on the email performance report and was counted as email opened based on email performance report rule #4 "If the email is Opened, bounces are ignored." There were three leads that had soft bounce activity also had a delivered email activity. Based on email performance report rule #1 "Each email activity record is set to one, and only one, of the following: Delivered, Hard Bounced, Soft Bounced, or Pending." - in this case, soft bounce takes precedence over delivered email activity so the three leads were not counted as delivered on the report but were counted as soft bounce. Issue Description The error type "The remote server's SSL certificate or SSH fingerprint was rejected" occurs when the SSL certificate is being used on the main domain and not Sub-domains.   Issue Resolution Check the URL in Admin > Webhooks Click on the webhook in the right corner. For example, if the URL is, https://onlineservices.test.marketo.com, the certificate needs to be valid on *.test.marketo.com and not just *.Marketo.com. Check this by verifying the certificate on "https://www.sslshopper.com" and all the certificates will be listed as Subject Alternative Name's if the certificate is valid on the sub-domains. For example: For Google.com "https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=google.com", the certificate is valid on *.Google.com as well as all the subdomains as listed in SAN's. Issue There are discrepancies in the leads activity logs within Marketo, where the Email Delivered activity timestamp is sometimes recorded a few seconds before the Email Sent activity. This sequencing issue causes confusion for analytics teams, particularly when using external analytics platforms like Tableau, as the logical sequence would typically show that an email is sent before it is delivered. Solution Understanding email statuses and utilizing Campaign Run ID for analytics: The confusion arises from a misunderstanding of how Marketo logs email activities and the meaning behind the statuses Sent and Delivered.   Email Sent Status: In Marketo, when an email status is logged as Sent, it indicates that the email has been considered for sending or queued for sending. The status does not mean the email has been physically sent through the servers but rather is prepared to be sent. The logging of this event happens shortly after the email is queued, which could be almost instantaneous.   Email Delivered Status: The Delivered status is an acknowledgment from the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) infrastructure, signifying that the recipient's email server has accepted the email. This status is logged after the event has occurred and the email has been accepted by the remote server.   It is important to note that while both statuses are recorded after their respective events, they come from different systems within the email delivery process. This can sometimes result in the Delivered status being logged before the Sent status, although such instances should be rare. To correctly analyze and interpret the email activity logs, users should adhere to the following guidelines: Recognize that the timestamps for Sent and Delivered may not always be in the expected order due to the separate systems involved in logging these events. Focus on the Campaign Run ID for analytics purposes. This ID is unique to each campaign run and can be used to accurately reassemble the sequence of events, regardless of the order in which Sent and Delivered statuses are logged.

Issue After going through a modification of a text field type from 'Text' to 'String', the field is no longer available as a filter for smartlists. Don't worry, the field is not gone - it is just temporarly unavailable. Solution Changing the field type from one type to another is a database intensive operation and in some cases where the field values are widely populated across your database records, this can cause the filter to be unavailable until the operation is completed in full. The time it takes for the field filter to become available may vary and it can take up to ~30 hours sometimes until the field filter is available again after the type of the field has been changed.

Issue After declaring a champion for your Champion/Challenger test, you notice that the test (ex: "Whole Emails" test) in the Marketing Activities asset tree under your Email Asset is missing.   Root Cause When you declare a champion, you select a Declare Date. Once this date/time is reached, only the new champion will be sent. After the test is over, it is expected behavior that the test (ex: "Whole Emails" test) will no longer be shown in the tree. This is because the test is no longer active. If you would like to retain your test data, it is recommended that you save this outside of Marketo.
