Ok, we figured it out and it is indeed a bug with large email templates. We will issue a patch to increase the max size. Essentially, it's a matter of how many "local" variables you've defined. We serialize it and write it all out to JSON and the DB column doesn't have enough room to store large num...
Btw, workaround is to right click module in the right-hand pane and move that way. Or, drag them in the right-pane using handles. It appears that resets things and gives you the context menu options back within the canvas.

You get even do it with a my.token for an entire folder if you know ahead of time all the emails in that folder will have a specific tracking link!
