Nope, not supported.You can go to Lead Database > New Lead and enter characters in the email address field to see how it's validated.
Did you paste the script in via Email Actions > HTML Tools > Replace HTML?Seems to not strip it out when I test it that way...

If it's an email program, the email needs to be within the program.
How are you doing a HTTP redirect without the URL changing? Are you sure it is an actual redirect, or are you just displaying an iframe of another URL within the page?
If you click on the email itself, it should list "Used By:" in the summary view.
