Would someone like to create in idea for this? In Support we get requests for this occasionally, but I'm only finding discussions about it in the Community. Creating an Idea will help bring it to the attention of our Product team as they make decisions about new features and enhancements.
99% of the time I see this happen its due to using a personal email address. The best way to avoid it in my opinion is to block personal email address using the method Josh and 53504 were talking about.

In that case, I recommend contacting Support so we can look at the email header and our email logs to figure out what's happening. Be sure to attach the email they forwarded you / responded to and be specific about the email address of the lead, which email they received, and when it was sent.
I would need to test it, but I suspect the "+" is a reserved character in the database query. If you try URL encoding it as a %43 as Elliot suggests, does that work?
