Yep, I do not think any field should prevent an alert from sending internally. This functionality introduces manual processes to check that your alerts are actually getting sent.

Agree this is a huge problem. Any type of alert or smart list or anything that could isolate when a lead fails to sync or get added to a SFDC campaign would be very beneficial.
