Unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem. Queues are not treated the same way as the lead owners (different objects) so adding an email address to a queue won't change anything.

Yup, the easiest way to do it is to update the URL of the landing page to the URL that was sent out. If the current URL is also being used elsewhere, you will use the option where you keep both URLs. Otherwise, you can discard the original URL.
So essentially if a lead activity is logged in SFDC, there's no control on when it syncs over?
