In this circumstance, I would import to a static list and tell Marketo to skip new leads. That way, only the records that are in your system get added to the list. Not sure if that would work in this scenario - guess it would depend on your goal
The cloned asset isn't getting pulled by the original Program it was created for; however, if you cloned the entire Program, it will be pulled by the local-to-that-Program campaigns and will have to be removed from those if you want to delete it, as a result. The original email will remain.
What Greg said. You'll have to remove it from the campaigns where it's being used, then approve the email and delete.You can see where an email is being used by clicking on it and viewing the "Used By" tab:
I believe this will have to be a manual change that's monitored by someone, or you'll have to use a third-party scheduler.
I can't stress enough the importance of Technique 7. Nothing like importing a list of thousands of leads that accidentally change a data value for everyone Maybe try one or two of them first to see what happens.

I know in our database, a big problem is (and always has been) potential duplicates due to the way our industry operates (ie: lots of people at a company with the same email address). What works for others doesn't work for us in this regard, so we really have to stay on top of dupe...
