Here's another place where this can bite you: reports. We email a daily "known visitors" and a weekly "anonymous visitors" report for specific geos/segments to the relevant sales teams. After a nurture or promotional email drops, the sales team sees a "too good to be true" surge of visitors from som...
Thanks Dan. That sounds both likely ... and mildly depressing.
I see this too often for it to be a fluke:- Recipient of nurture email or one-off promotional email uses the Unsubscribe link.- Does not unsubscribe. Instead, travels to home page, demo page, etc. Then leaves.- Repeats same behavior in subsequent days. I've ruled this out:- The unsubscribe page is w...
I know there are some feature requests that address this, but am wondering if there are any workarounds. The basic use case: In SFDC campaigns, we have a custom picklist field named "Category" that lets us select values like "Acquisition" and "Nurture", or a picklist "Theme" field that let's us pick ...

Which does what it implies: in our instance, they introduced a rule to sync only user account records that were flagged this way. We then deleted (thousands) of records ...
Absolutely. It's just very disappointing that we can't build a smartlist that pulls in members of an SFDC campaign based on standard field values (such as "active"!) or custom fields. Of course, we also need them available as triggers too. We actually have more visibility into custom member statuses...
Marketo tends to miss business justifications for some features. With a little work on features like this, Marketo could easily obviate the need for overlapping or competitive products that do lead routing. The flexibility of smart lists and segmentations, combined with the visual interface for stri...
And ... one thing to note here, lest it be forgotten. This isn't an idea for a product feature or even an enhancement. This is one way to fix a bug that makes a very fundamental feature unusable for large enterprises.
