So this is a lead field? Could you check one of those records in Marketo and see what their creating activity is? Since its a lead field I'd think that there was some trigger campaign that's writing this value to the referring URL field.
Where are you seeing this? Can you add a screenshot?
You need to have support create the activity type you want before you can use a custom activity type.

That looks correct from here. You may want to diff the original and the resulting download to see what the differences are and potentially log a support ticket with the details.
You can only use the mobile SDK if you have a subscription to Marketo Mobile Engagement. It is also extremely unlikely the any of the mobile SDKs would be useful since they rely on either the IOS or Android runtimes which are not available on typical servers. Your vendor should use the REST API.
