I found this out as well: even though this email does not have images directly embedded in it that you can see, it’s still an email built in HTML so a tracking pixel is included in the email which means that “Download images” link will appear in someone’s Outlook inbox. Very interesting. But what if your email has no images in it whatsoever (like this one does)? All it has is plain text and a few links. So I'm wondering how someone that clicked on a link is recorded in the Smart List but does not appear in the Email Open report.

I'm a little confused about a few reports I pulled in Marketo. I created 2 Smart Lists - one to show exactly who clicked on a link in the email, and another to show who opened the email. I actually went over to networking and had them look in Mimecast (what we use for spam), and it doesn't show up at all. Looks like I'll have to open up a Marketo support ticket
