When trying to track down a form embedded on a website you can use the following statement is the HTML, look for the section resembling the example below:

<form class="mktoForm mktoHasWidth mktoLayoutLeft" id="mktoForm_317" novalidate="novalidate" style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; color: rgb(51, 51, 51);">

The bolded Form ID will be reflected in the Marketo Form URL, see form URL fragment example below:https://app-sj01.marketo.com/#FO317A1ZN13LA1

.../#FO317A1ZN13LA1

this can help track down a specific form when you do not have the full Marketo Campaign information.

Tokens, tokens, tokens! For our activities that we do regularly, we have a program set up that is basically blank, but includes all tokens that we normally use. Then we clone the blank program to keep everything consistent and save us lots of time!

For example, our webinar program contains tokens for:

  • phone numbers (3 actually for each country we offer webinars in!)
  • access code
  • webinar title
  • multiple subject lines for our resends
  • our header for the confirmation/reminder emails
  • who to contact for questions
  • the add to calendar file (which uses some of the other tokens set up in the program as well!)
  • webinar date and webinar time

So Amber do you have the phone number segmented or just as a token?

Also I use the token for webinar URL and F2F

Re: Have Marketo Tips & Tricks? Share them Here!

We have 3 phone number tokens in our program for the various countries and then we just use the appropriate token in our dynamic content to ensure registrants receive the one local for them. The other one that we are working with now is we just switched to ON24 and we're testing using a token for their test your system link.

Very cool and clever

Re: Have Marketo Tips & Tricks? Share them Here!

Amber, you nailed it! The power of the token makes setting up reminder emails and many other things, faster and easier. I would also add a couple of things....

1. Standardize Token Naming

Example DescriptionMulti-Use Token
Duration Pacific{{my.EventDurationPacific}}
Duration Eastern{{my.EventDurationEastern}}
Title{{my.EventTitle}}
Headline{{my.EventHeadline}}

Use the same names across campaigns and channels -- if there is something specific to webinars, then start it with "Webinar" but if you think you may could use that token in another channel standardize. Then as you create new programs across channels you and your team know what to expect.

2. You can add tokens to campaign folders... and you should!

By adding these tokens at the campaign level, they will be inherited by any programs you create within. This happens regardless of cloning or creating a new program. Just open the program's tokens tab and you can update those you plan to use within you program

3. Calendar Token -- you can add tokens to the Notes/Description Portion

If you run an online or offline event, you can easily add the key details to the calendar description via tokens -- note this only works in the description field.

4. URL Tokens

Dont forget that if you want to track these, you will need to exclude the http:// from the token and include that in the link you plan on including. In your email or landing page it would look like this http://{{my.URLRegistration}} or whatever you plan on naming your token

Not token related, but super important note about Webinars...

Don't Forget your Waitstep before sending your confirmation email...

When you setup your flow, it may take a minute or so for the info to register with GoToMeeting, Webex, etc. Make sure you add a wait step between changing the program status to registered and sending your email with the webinar registration token.

Also add an if statement to the send email making sure the member is registered, you don't want to send an email to someone with a registration error as there email will not contain the login details.
