Hi there,
I've currently got my proximity pattern setting set to one second. Would changing this to zero seconds make it stricter or less strict?
What do you mean by strict?
If you set it to 0 seconds, it means that the activities need to happen in rapid succession. If you set it to something like 2 seconds, it means the activities will be filtered if they take place within 2 seconds of each other.
With the 0 seconds, there will be less filtered out as the engagements have to happen very close to each other. If you set it to 2 seconds, more data will be filtered out.
An elegant and simple explanation, thank you!
Hi @chris2929 ,
In conjunction with Christiane reply, do keep a record as the higher the time between activities there will be more chances of you also eliminating genuine Human actions.
Less the duration between activities more the chances of actual Bot activity. I usually keep my filter to 1 second although its not 100% but filters out decent number of Bot activities.
Setting proximity pattern to 0 seconds makes it less strict because only actions happening at the exact same time will be grouped. If you increase it (e.g., to 2 seconds), more actions get grouped together, making it stricter.
