Multiple Senders

I got a request today to send 1 email from 2 senders. This seems counterintuitive, but I need to double check if Marketo can handle 2 email addresses in the from field.

Re: Multiple Senders

This sounds like an XY problem.

No modern email clients will process multiple addresses in the From: header (although the SMTP standard does technically allow it).

What is the intended outcome of having multiple comma-delimited addresses in the From:? That is, what is the business requirement?

Re: Multiple Senders

The requestor might be confusing "reply-to" with "from". Can there be multiple reply-to addresses?

Re: Multiple Senders

Well, this also is not supported similar to from address - not by Marketo / by other mail clients. You can however use a single distribution list in the reply-to email address instead.

Same exact problem as with From:. Supported by RFC, not in real life.

Think about the catastrophe that would occur if you could turn any Reply into a Reply-All.

Again, what’s the actual business req?
