Last week we started a single-stream, 4-part nurture campaign. We set up the 'Add to nurture' to 'Sales Insights' in SalesForce. This requires our sales reps to go into the Marketo 'Sales Insights' section of a lead's profile in SalesForce and manually add them to the nurture campaign. Since we turned the nurture campaign on we have had 500+ leads mysteriously added to our campaign. None of our sales reps have added leads yet more continue to show up as members in the campaign. Anyone have an idea as to what trigger or setting in Marketo or SalesForce is putting these leads into our nurture campaign? Below is a screenshot of our 'Add to Nurture' smart campaign within the program.
When you say mysteriously, what type of backtracking did you do on the records that did qualify? Did you look at the activity logs and details to see where they came from?
Is another campaign Requesting this? Are you sure that sales did not select a bunch of Leads and then use the Add to Campaign?
Thanks for the help everyone. We were able to track the issue back a trigger within SalesForce. When a lead's lifecycle status was changed to 'Won' it was then automatically moved into a 'Customer Nurture' lifecycle status. The 'Customer Nurture' lifecycle stage triggered SalesForce to put the lead into our active nurture campaign, regardless of sector. We're fixing the rule within SalesForce to avoid this problem going forward.
