How does your organization manage those sensitive sales leads that we still want to email operational email, but not marketing emails for a specified amount of time? Like say we are negotiating with them on a contract and don't want a marketing email to sway them to reject it for some reason.
Is it as simple as just creating a checkbox for this? Or is there something already built in for situations like this? Thanks!

You would want to change to Marketing Suspended = true. That will block all non-operational emails.

Thank you for the information and for linking me to this documentation.
Hi Danielle,
it can be as easy as just creating a checkbox or you can also make a list/smart list and put/push them on it. There are many ways to achieve that, depending also on a how you track parameters that define a contact as "don't sent them emails", so you can automate the processes as much as possible.

Thank you!!
Yeah, I will make a smart campaign of some sort to automate the processes. I just have to give it some thought as to how the account owners will trigger it from SFDC.
I have a checkbox called "Marketing Suspend 3 months". Individuals can go to my subscription center and choose to temporarily opt out of emails for 3 months. The sales person can go and check this in Salesforce if they don't want their prospects to get emails for a while.
This would be ideal for us to do. Thank you for sharing your process!! Super helpful
