How do you handle communication limits?

Our company's industry is aligned to software and currently our communication limits is once per day and 2 per 7 day rolling period. We are considering making changes to our communication limits, but curious as to what other's have as their communication limits and any testing you did to come to the decision of what your comm limits should be. We want to be able to do some testing and research before making a shift randomly.

Hi @ttomasko43 ,

Communication limit is a very good tool available to make sure you are not bombarding your leads with emails, if used wisely it greatly helps in improving your lead interaction with your content.

All though it totally depends the type of content you are sharing with your leads but in given scenario & presuming you are using more of informational content, I can recommend you use a Communication limits of 1 per day & 5 per week.

Hope this Helps 😊

Re: How do you handle communication limits?

Common communication limits in the software industry are 1 email per day and 4-5 emails per 7-day rolling period, but obviously, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach—it depends on your organization, audience, and their engagement levels.

You can conduct A/B testing, analyze metrics (open rates, click-through rates, unsubscribes, spam complaints, etc.), and gather subscriber feedback to fine-tune your strategy. It always helps to tailor frequency based on behavior and preferences, ensuring emails remain relevant and valuable. Regularly review performance to adjust limits and avoid audience fatigue.

Additionally, just a FYI if you're going to be too focused on clicks and opens that those could be from email bots/privacy scanners, especially if you don't have bot filtering turned in your instance.

Hope this is helpful.  Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
