We've ended a contract with a vendor and they're still pushing updates to our system. I've disconnected the custom fields created for the vendor from connecting to anything else or causing triggers, but regardless this still has an impact on our API Calls and system speed.
Can anyone recommend how to disconnect a SOAP API Integration?

Did you go into Admin and delete their service?
You have to change your SOAP secret (which will break all your SOAP integrations, but will stop a misbehaving one permanently).
... and here we learn again why nobody should be using Marketo's SOAP API.
Except for Marketo Sales Insight - which we just learned last week is still using SOAP.
I would include that in "nobody should."
so, if not SOAP API, what do you recommend?
REST. The SOAP API is no longer evolving and is almost comically insecure (because everyone is root).
