Hi everyone!

 

My name is Eesha Malick and I currently work at Stryker as a Marketo admin, globally. I have been in digital marketing for 12 years and email marketing in 9! I have been in many industries such as Wealth Management, non-profit, Beauty and Pharma. 

 

I am already a Marketo certified professional and am looking forward to going for my architect certification. I have already set up many things on the back end of Marketo like webhooks and different integrations. 

 

Excited to learn more about this certification!

Hi everyone!

I'm Alexandra, now based in Belgrade, Serbia, and currently, I work as a Marketing Automation Lead at Semrush.
My Marketo experience includes only 2 instances (both in IT companies) in 9 years, but a bit wide amount of different tasks and projects, including:

  • being the only Marketo specialist on board for 2 years;
  • implementing Custom Objects through the custom integration;
  • managing Acquisition, Partner, and Renewal lifecycles;
  • maintaining Marketo <--> Salesforce Integration;
  • working with Webhooks;
  • building Assignment Management rules;
  • and many, many other things.

I would say my strong side is the ability to draft an unusual solution for the challenges. What I really wish is the ability to discuss them with a small group of Marketo experts (I'm too shy to post it in Nation) to discuss pros and cons and get the lessons learned. 

I was eager to get an Architect certification for several years, but as my experience includes only 2 instances, I always hoped to have a chance to get the case studies first, so I got blessed with the Mentorship program, hope we'll have more test materials that the demo test!

Hi all,

 

I have a general question about lead source tracking between Marketo and Salesforce and hopefully someone can help me with that?

Is it possible to have a dynamic lead source value + UTM tracking code captured in Marketo and after leads synchronized to Salesforce, the lead source category can be automatically defined based on part of lead source value? Take this as example from my imagination: a lead source was captured by Marketo token and the value is formed as "Program name + Form name". Then this lead source value is pushed to a field called "Lead Source Value Combi" where consolidate the lead source value + UTM source (e.g. XYZcampaign.ENform.SoMe). Once the lead is synchronized, Salesforece will capture "SoMe" this term which is part of the name of Lead Source Value Combi and automatically mark the lead source category as "Digital Ad" in the system. 

Not sure if this approach or set up is the best way. Any idea or recommendation?

Hi Yi-Chun Kurka,

IMO, that looks like a good plan. 🙂

A small suggestion: you may want to ensure that the field is updatable via Marketo as well to avoid dependency on one system.

Have experienced an issue where a field is blocked in SFDC via validation rule or limited privilege is given to the Marketo sync user - due to which a big bunch of records can only be remedied via SFDC - Marketo can't send any updated values to SFDC, in case the planned list of values need a change in the future. 

Hope this may be useful.
