Throttle Emails to One Domain

Currently there's no way to state, send an email to all these people, but if 20 of them all work at the same company (have the same domain)  send only 5, then wait, then send 5 more, then wait. 

This would realllllly help out on deliverability issues we face. Some way to pause emails, such that we don't blast one company's spam filter with 20 emails at once, causing all of the email addresses to become email suspended or potentially email invalid, when the emails themselves are correct, but we just sent too many at once.

There are a lot of ideas for Sending emails by TimeZone, it would be great if we could send/pause/throttle emails by Domain!

How big of an issue is this really?

Marketo seems unconcerned with the issue especially with the design of engagement program where all emails are sent at the same time via a cast, regardless of domain considerations (or are they doing something in the back end)?

Any insights would be appreciated.

We've been getting complaints that we send too many emails to the same company, ugh but they opted in, but we do send the occasional promotional emails which I send at a much earlier or later time.  As Adam mentioned above, I have seen an increase of emails being marked invalid even though the emails are valid, and emails being suspended.  ugh.

And a response from Marketo: We actually do a lot of this automatically. Most mail servers, when they feel like they are getting too many emails from one sender (like Marketo) will send us a soft bounce back saying we should wait.

The mail sending infrastructure will them wait before trying again, rather than trying to force everything through and having them bounce. Now, we currently don't have a way for manual control, but the process works well if you just need the email to get delievered when possible.
