Hi Guys,
I am actually facing a problem with Marketo. I was sending out an email campaign to a bunch of people as follows:
- Sender: personal email address of the Sales Rep
- Reply to: Marketing email address (to avoid the sales rep email address gets spammed)
>>> It was intended that the Out of Office replies went to the "reply-to" address as well. Unfortunately, it turned out that the Sales Rep received all the Out of Office Replies of the campaign.
How is it possible to re-route these out of office replies to the actual "reply-to" address?
Is there any solution?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
Irene
First, you aren't using the Sender: header. You're using the From: and Reply-To:. These are distinctly different.
To your question: no, you cannot make automatic responses such as OoO go to the Reply-To:. The Reply-To: is for human responses, applying human intelligence. Per the SMTP standard, the Reply-To: should not be used for this purpose. Some applications break the standard, causing storms of OoO messages to mailing lists. That's bad. Really bad. We want less of that.
Finally, your From: didn't really get "all" the OoOs. To be clear, s/he got the ones that didn't go to the envelope sender (which Marketo manages).
If this is very important, Siftrock or LeadGnome are automated methods to handle replies.
