Barb,If you deleted the contacts from SFDC, then they will remain in Marketo until they are deleted there. I would create a smart list that has the filter "SFDC Is Deleted: True" to isolate them for deletion. Additionally, the "All People" system smart list will update quickly.

Since you are looking at emails sent, there may be several smart campaigns running that may be removing people or disqualifying them from moving through the process. Monica,Best practice is to create the field in SFDC and then have it sync to Marketo. You do not have to "map" the fields if they were first created in SFDC and synced over.
