Yes, I agree with Adam. I usually also think 5 minutes. If you're concerned about it you can always add the sync lead to sfdc flowstep in your campaigns if applicable.
In admin - under field management - you want to make sure you have your lead source field block updates from those types of sources - web services, list loads, etc. This way it keeps the original source and won't overwrite it.
