One of usage of these program level fields could be to store the acquisition and/or conversion channel for each lead in the program.This would reduce the need for sophisticated approaches such as the one described by Jessica Cross here: Bucket programs for tracking content across channels -Greg

We can have Marketo custom objects to show up in the custom object tab in the lead detail screen, but we cannot do the same for SFDC nor MSD custom objects.Just make it possible for the CRM custom objects as well.-Greg
