Dan is correct, but I actually do email sends using the Default Program Type because I find it to be more flexible for my purposes.
Here's the help article with detailed instructions - you just need to goto the Schedule tab of a Smart Campaign and then Edit Settings. You will have the option to have the lead flow through the program once, once every X days/weeks/months, or every time.Edit: I meant Smart Campaign not Program

To Edward's point, I'd also set up seperate scoring campaigns for current customers to measure engagement with your product and brand. You would just use the opposite filter, SFDC Account Type is Customer, in these campaigns.
