Hi Mary,Marketo will treat Leads and Contacts the same unless you specify an SFDC type filter when running your campaign.
Delete lead will remove records from Marketo. Please note however, if you're not controlling the visibility of your sync user to these records, the next time they are updated in SFDC, they will be synched back down to Marketo as new.

Hi Tarun,How were these created in the new instance? If it was via program import, there's a current bug related to LPs in test groups not being properly created. Cloning and approving new versions will make working versions.
Dory is correct, the batch sync hasn't yet had a chance to pull the record into Marketo, so there's no marketo-side record to add to the campaign.
