That is not the case, Meredith. Skip new leads and updates will match records from the CSV based on Email Address, and then add the matching records from your Lead database to the static list. It will not create any new records or change any fields values.
Hey Meredith,If you just want to add leads to a static list from a CSV, you can use the 'skip new leads and updates' option frmo the uploader. this will prevent all inserts and updates to ecords from the upload.
Hey Katie,You'll need to create an additional Smart list for this purpose. The smart list will need to say Created at in past one year, and then create an additional smart list with Member of Smart List not in the previous one. This will generate a list of all leads not created in the past year.

Hey Danielle,Marketo does not distinguish between leads and contact in our own database. CRM field mappings from both lead and contact objects are mapped into the Lead Info type fields.
I'm not sure which situation that your consultant was referring to, List Imports will deduplicate against existing email addresses in your Marketo database. It's possible that duplicates were created in SFDC because the corresponding records did not exist in Marketo, but deduplication against Email...
Hey Robb,For Analytics data such as email performance reports, Marketo will backfill an open when a tracking link is clicked. This will not count as the Open activity, however, so it will not exist in activity logs, or trigger campaigns.
Hey Danielle,This type of blocking is best done on the SFDC, by setting fields to read-only with field-level security. You can choose to disallow updates to fields in Marketo with the Field Actions>Block Field from updates action, however.
