WordPress Forms, Maketo Connector for WordPress by Hoosh

For a new website redesign, my web team has decided to use WordPress Forms (for lead capture) throughout the site (instead of Marketo forms placed on the page in an iFrame or other container). They are using a Marketo Connector for WordPress by Hoosh to manage the syncing of fields between the WordPress forms and Marketo. I am wondering whether anyone has experience either in using this connector specifically, or any experience in using WordPress Forms instead of Marketo Forms on your website?

We're experiencing some difficulties in getting the Marketo forms to get posted in HTTPS, and I also would just like to get any general insight on using WordPress forms vs. Marketo forms, if possible...

(The site is not yet live, so while we've done some testing, I haven't really been able to experience them in action).

Thanks!

Hi Julie,

Using CMS forms will require some dev if you want to get the full functional scope of a Marketo form, whatever the CMS.

If you are using wordpress forms, you will have either to post a Marketo form in the background or read the Marketo cookie from the wordpress form and pass it to Marketo through API and finally call a webhook in Marketo to reconcile the cookie with the lead information. No need to say that this is a very cumbersome method.

Using a pre-built CMS-Marketo integration that can do all this work for you plus some more (such as providing form prefill and a few other automaton capabilities) will save your time.

I have never used this Wordpress - Marketo integration from Hoosh, but they are a well known Marketo partner and have been in the Marketo arena for a very long time, so I would give them this credit and try it, at least.

A business website (let alone enterprise) shouldn't use REST API-based form submissions. They are, generally speaking, not suited for the scale and reliability that business websites require.

When using a third-party form you can always submit the form using the Forms (not REST) API. It merely takes a capable developer. if you describe the issues you're having with SSL (probably in a different thread) I can help you solve them.

Hi Julie,

As you aren't a customer of ours (as far as I can tell), I'm assuming you are referring to our free version of the Wordpress plugin. I suggest if you have a real business requirement, you check out our paid version on Launchpoint, which includes full implementation and on-going support

Wordpress Marketo Integration – Marketo LaunchPoint

cheers,

Linking to product sites is no longer allowed on the forum, Fab.

It's not my favorite rule.

I think product plugs should be badgified. Maybe that'll happen someday.
