Re: What should be the program channel type - To track form fills from marketo landing page via email program (email CTA has a link to marketo landing page)

There could be multiple ways in which you can track and export the email send/engagement data from the Marketo -

1. Email Actvities data - Marketo logs the email delivered, opened, clicked, bounced, etc. actvities in the person activity log, and you can export these engagement data out of Marketo using the bulk extract or query activities endpoint. Since Marketo logs the email activities OOTB for all the people, this solution does not require any custom build/set up in Marketo.

2. Using Program channel and status transitions - if you've proper channel and status setup that you assign people when they engage with the emails, then you can export the "Change Status in Progression" activities using the bulk extract or query activities endpoint.

We are looking for the field in Marketo that tell us a person has been send a specific email so we can do email reporting in Tableau.

OOTB, Marketo does not populate any field with with the email activities/engagements on the person record, rather Marketo logs the activities which you can export as mentioned in the step 1.

Hope this helps. 🙂

Betreff: What should be the program channel type - To track form fills from marketo landing page via email program (email CTA has a link to marketo landing page)

Program Channel, Program Steps and Program Successes all depend on your use case and what you want to track/report on. "form fill" is probably a little too unspecific, as different form fills mean different things. Can be a whitepaper download or a webinar registration. But let's say, it's Whitepaper Download, then a Channel named "Download" with the Steps "Email Sent", "Submitted Form", "Whitepaper Delivered" might make sense.

Again, depends on your setup and what your Smart Campaigns are actually supposed to be doing.

Thanks   Michael_Florin.

It's a white paper download.

As of now we don't have specific channel type to track email conversions on marketo landing page.

Looks like we need to come up with new channel type.

So was brainstorming for ideas.

Any suggestions here.

I know the smart campaigns logic but was wondering what should be ideal channel type.

Betreff: What should be the program channel type - To track form fills from marketo landing page via email program (email CTA has a link to marketo landing page)

Channel: Whitepaper Download

Status:

10 Sent Email (I think you should make all email recipients program members, so you need that status. It's important if you use that program for Engagement Program nesting.)

20 Submitted Form (Success)

If you deliver the WP on the TY page, then that's it. If you send it through delivery email you want to add

30 Clicked Delivery Email (Success)

Don't do "Open Email" and "Click Email" as program statuses. They are unreliable and don't give you much information. Also you have to have Smart Campaigns to set these statuses. But that's just my opinion. I know a lot of folks use these statuses.

But again: All depends on your reporting needs and whether or not you have/use RCE or what Tableau might want.

Hello Deeps

how are you?

have you been able to find a solution?

We are looking for the field in Marketo that tell us a person has been send a specific email so we can do email reporting in Tableau. We have all the data in a separate database. trying to confirm how to best link email A to Person X.

Thanks
