Understanding Opportunity Filters

Does the 'Has Opportunity' filter only apply to records that have a contact role on the opportunity, or will it qualify all contacts associated to the account (company) for that opportunity?

Example:
I have 5 contacts associated with Account 123. Account 123 just recently opened an opportunity. Only 1 of those contacts has a Contact Role assigned on the opportunity. I want to create a smart list to pull in all 5 contacts associated with Account 123 based on criteria filtered at the opportunity level (for example, Opportunity Stage = “Open” and Close Date within the next 90 days).

If I am using the 'Has Opportunity' filter, will the smart list output all 5 contacts from that account, or just the 1 contact with the Contact Role?

You won’t get all the Contacts related to the SFDC Account.

(Wouldn’t really make sense as Accounts are too broad for every Contact to personally “have” every Oppty. Well, unless you‘re deliberately creating near-duplicate Accounts, which is a manageability nightmare.)

Re: Understanding Opportunity Filters

Hi @katy_rodriguez ,

As Sanford mentioned, you will receive only 1 lead as the out put.

Has Opportunity is a lead filter/trigger linked to an Opportunity via the Opportunity Contact Roles.

Hence in your case since the opportunity is linked to only 1 contact role your SL will out put 1 lead only.

Hope this helps🙂
