We just built a custom integration between Wistia and Marketo. It allows for exactly what you are looking for. It requires some custom development to work, but once you have it up and running you can attach each video to a program like the one in this screenshot and get some really nice metrics.

I do not have the option of using vimeo or wystia right now, but I need to track if an embedded youtube video was watched on a landing page. I want to checge the program status for the page to "engaged" and need something to key off of.
I could find some onld content out there in the community, but all the links were broken.
Any thoughts?

In addition to tracking embedded YouTube videos (http://www.jeffrshearer.com/tracking-embedded-youtube-and-wistia-videos-in-marketo), is there a similar way to track embedded Vimeo videos on a landing page using the Vimeo's Javascript API (Player on Vimeo Developer API )?

Absolutely! The Vimeo API is even more robust.
