I created a smart list report to pull data for people who filled in a form (used this as the filter). I tested it in staging, filled in the form but the report is empty. Does the program need to go live before the smart list starts capturing?
If the form is approved then your smart list should work.
What does your filter look like? Is it just, Filled Out Form?
Yes, the form is approved and there's only the Filled Out Form filter - I did a test via the landing page preview (wonder if this could be the reason?)
FYI: In Preview, form submissions from named Form elements (i.e. forms shown in the Insert Elements pane in Free-Form LP Editor or the Elements pane in Guided LP Editor) will work, but the results are discarded. Custom form elements (i.e. using the form embed code) will work as normal (if you should ever want to do such a thing).
Can you describe more of what steps you took or screenshots? What is "Staging" in this situation?
Filled Out Form filter is your primary help here, but there could be reasons no one appears.
Ignore the 'staging' part, it's just a workspace I'm using
I have only the 'Filled Out Form' filter in the smart list and I tested the form via a landing page preview.
Have to agree with Sanford - test using a live LP rather than the preview. The preview is designed more for testing display functions, not smart list functionality.
