Hi,
We are looking into ways of reporting on internal staff members and the number of our events they have spoken at.
As part of this project we're looking into whether Marketo could be used - one theory floated was adding a new member status to our Event Program channel called 'internal-speaker', as we don't tend to report on the attendance of internal attendees anyway.
I wondered if anyone else has created any similar reports/has any ideas how we could do this?
Thanks in advance.

Adding a new member status called "internal-speaker" to your Event Program channel is a viable option, as you suggested. This would allow you to easily segment and identify members who have spoken at events. However, you'll need to ensure that this status is applied consistently and accurately to all relevant members. Once you have the member status in place, you can use it in filters and reports in Marketo. For example, you could create a report that shows the number of events each internal speaker has spoken at or the total number of internal speakers at each event.
Another option is to create a field on the person object and update the event or program names where the person has spoken, but reporting would be much easier with channel statuses than the field; the former gets a brownie point. Regardless of the approach you choose, you'll need to make sure that your data is accurate and up-to-date. This may involve working with your event management team to ensure that they are tracking internal speaker participation consistently. If already not, you should consider how you want to use the reports you generate. For example, will you use them to track individual performance, identify potential speakers for future events, or measure the overall engagement of your internal audience?
