ORDEAL! Unsubscribes from old email marketing provider...

The list we uploaded from our previous email marketing provider into Marketo was contaminated. The list has many individuals that shouldn't be unsubscribes - unsubscribed. So, we don't have an accurate list any longer. We don't want to subject ourselves to being reported as SPAM, but know we are missing a huge portion of our original list. We are changing our name beginning October 1. Can we send out an email to all our members (with email) notifying them of the name change and requesting how they want to stay connected to us? This way, we may be able to retrieve those that didn't want to be unsubscribed? Do we open ourselves up to being black listed? HELP.

Is there any way to delete everything in Marketo and then go back to the Old List and clean it up and then re-upload?

It's ok to send an email once in the US, but with all of the changes in Canada and elsewhere, I'd be reluctant to do that without permission.

From the way you described it, I am a bit unsure if you mean the list has Spam Traps, Old Emails, or you just transposed Unsubscribed=TRUE for FALSE. Let us know.

Thanks for the response Josh. We are going back to our previous provider to see what we can do. It's a bit complicated, but hoping we can find a resolution because we've lost many subscribers due to the provider's inaccurate unsubscription process.
