Hi there,
just about to start looking at customer renewals in Marketo - using an Opportunity Close date as the trigger date field. So Close Date minus 30; minus 10 etc...
Trouble is that the Close Date doesn't seem to be a field that Marketo can use as it's not associated directly to the Lead etc record. is there a solution out there?
Help...
Guys, unless I'm missing something here I think you are talking about using fields which exist on the main lead record itself - but because I'm using Salesforce as the CRM, my Opportunity data comes over in the Opportunity tab under the activity log - so using something like Close Date on an opportunity isn't going to work as I don't think it's available as something that can be tokenised...
or is it?
Hi Michael Collins, we use data on the Account record to manage our renewal notifications. I use one master Date field and then have several hidden date fields for 90/60/30 days before their renewal. I found this much more reliable than trying to do the plus/minus of the date.
I run my batch flow weekly:
Yes, thanks Emily - that seems like a possibility...
although I have to say that we were sold Marketo on the fact that it could handle our Opportunity object data, particularly the renewal dates easily.
I also have a ticket open with them right now because I don't think that the 'In Future' or 'In Future After' date filters actually do what the Marketo documentation says they do... Very annoying...
The use of expiration date or renewal date is well documented in various threads. You cannot use a trigger for this situation.Instead, create a daily batch which can use the Date Tokens properly.
When I search the community for either renewal or expiration date I get nothing.
Can you provide a link do you think?
You can use a batch campaign that will run daily just like Josh said.
Close date is in time frame = today
Use this as a filter, then you can accomplish what you would have needed via a trigger.
