Marketo stripes out the +1 from the Phone Number

Hi guys!

Does Marketo stripe out the +1 from the Phone Number field? There was an insert from an API call, then I see this in the log.

Looking at the activity details snapshot, seems like this change was synced to Marketo from the Salesforce. OOTB Marketo does not remove the + sign from the data stored in the Phone Number field.

The source and the reason values of  the change data value activity in the snapshot you shared indicates the CDV was synced from the SFDC. In case of the CDV activity originating  from the Marketo, the reason would have the campaign name or manual person edit based on if the change was done by a campaign or by a manual edit on the field.

You must have an SFDC data normalization package, or potentially custom Apex trigger, doing this. Like Darshil says, it’s not Marketo.
