Marketo Email Insight report and API call report does not matches for Email Activities Data

Hey Team

I am extracting Email Activities data from Marketo to Snowflake and the reports have 'Email Send', 'Email Delivered' and 'Email Open' Activities data mismatch.

 

Scenario is that when we download the Marketo Email Insight Report from Marketo tool, the 'Email Send',  'Email Delivered' and 'Email Open' Activities are more than the data reflecting in Snowflake.

Example:

 

Marketo Email Insight Report: (Downloaded)

Total Sent: 276062

Total Delivered: 271762

Opens: 58946

 

Report in Snowflake: (API Call)

Total Sent: 186883

Total Delivered: 185750

Opens: 50662

 

The reports are not matching. Data is fetched through API calls and saved in Snowflake.

Clearly not enough detail here for anyone to give useful help.

 

You have to explain exactly which API endpoint(s) you used and the payload(s) you sent, crucially including the date range.

 

Then you need to show full details of the Email Insights report you’re using.

You have to explain exactly which API endpoint(s) you used and the payload(s) you sent, crucially including the date range.

 

Then you need to show full details of the Email Insights report you’re using.

Agreed with Sanford here, but in general it is expected that there are mismatches between the standard Marketo reporting and raw activity data, as the Marketo reports have some in-built logic to come to a consistent report. There are quite a few threads about that topic on the nation already, so I would suggest to research the topic and provide more details if you cannot figure it out based on that.
