Limiting amount of emails sent per week

I am trying to set up an email and I want to make sure not to send to anyone who has received any type of marketing email in the past week.

I feel like image 1 is the correct way but the constraint of "min. number of times = 2" is throwing me off. I keep reading this as "they have been sent at least 2 emails in the past 7 days." Any help is much appreciated, I feel like I am going crazy over something so simple.

Image 2 - trying to figure out if there is a better way but I think this is incorrect?

Well this is why I should always test to confirm before assuming. My assumption here was incorrect....

When using was sent email IS ANY, the constraint "Min Number of Times" = 2 will show anyone who was sent 2 emails over their time in your database (and is not exclusive 2 of the same or single email).

Apologies for misspeaking here, glad I tested so I can utilize now!

Number of Sent Emails is a custom field someone setup for you. Unclear if that would be the right thing.

You can control this via Comms Limits (read in docs.marketo.com)

or you can say

Not Was sent Email IS ANY IN PAST 7 Days, which is what you did. This will give you the list of people with zero emails sent in that time period.

Hey Spencer,

Agree with Josh's recommendation to use Admin > Communication Limits to restrict the number of emails a person can receive on any given day/week as opposed to managing this manually....

Also, be careful with the "Min Number of Times" filter... I understand this as the person has to have been sent the SAME asset 2 times, as opposed to have been sent 2 emails total regardless of the asset. Maybe someone else can confirm, but when you select a specific form or email that filter means they have filled that exact form or were sent that exact email 2 times.... hope that is clear....

I would change the Communication Limits in the Admin section if you always want to have the weekly email limit set at 1. If this is a one off campaign, then use the flow you currently have set up.

I do recommend you set communication limits if you haven't already.
