The default value of a URL parameter is a required field. Is there a way to make this field blank if no URL parameter exists?

We use a space and that seems to work--Marketo seems to interpret that as NULL.

Sometimes the inbound link will have no parameter and I would like the field to also be blank, however Marketo requires a "default value". I was asking if there was a way to keep this blank.

so the inbound link has no params at all? or is not under your control?
You could use param=NULL which Marketo will interpret as blank.
